Cellular Technology Limited (CTL) is a biotechnology company based in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, with global locations and distributors. Currently employing around 180 full-time staff, CTL is a family-owned and privately held company focused on its mission rather than on profits. The company’s mission is to advance the medical field by enhancing cell-based immune monitoring, which supports basic immunological research, regulated clinical trials, and clinical diagnostics.

A spin-off from Case Western Reserve University, CTL was founded by Professor Paul V. Lehmann and his scientific team, with the goal of assisting fellow scientists in their immune monitoring efforts. The company maintains an active immune-monitoring research program with 22 M.D./Ph.D.-level scientists working to extend the boundaries of immune monitoring and to share their expertise with the scientific community.

For over 25 years, CTL has focused on advancing ALL ASPECTS of immune monitoring by ELISPOT/FluoroSpot (collectively called ImmunoSpot®). The company is dedicated to:

• Developing and manufacturing hardware and software solutions for scientifically validated ImmunoSpot® data analysis, tailored to meet the needs of both academic and regulated research communities.
• Developing and manufacturing ImmunoSpot® test kits with ultimate sensitivity for each analyte, capable of unambiguous detection of analyte co-expression patterns in multicolor assays.
• Manufacturing critical reagents for optimal assay performance, including serum-free test media formulated for low background and high signal performance in ImmunoSpot® assays or for functionally loss-free freezing and thawing of PBMCs.
• Offering positive control antigens for T cell ImmunoSpot® testing.
• Building and providing an extensive PBMC library that offers scientists easy access to fully functional human PBMCs, with genetic or environmentally imprinted traits, ideal for immune function studies and reference standards.

CTL also offers cellular immune monitoring services through its Contract Research Organization (CRO), serving clients with advanced immune monitoring solutions.
