In 1997, ESC Medical Systems Ltd. and Laser Industries Ltd. announced a merger plan that would create an international heavyweight in the medical laser industry. Both partners are major players in the development of cosmetic and medical laser technologies. ESC's pulsed light sources, lasers, and other products are used in non-invasive cosmetic medical procedures and other applications in medical offices.
