RIMSA: A History of Innovation and Quality in Surgical Lighting

Founded in 1936 by Palmino Longoni, RIMSA began as a mechanical workshop dedicated to repairing typewriters and similar devices, which explains its acronym RI.M.S.A. In the 1980s, the company shifted its focus to the surgical lighting sector, a field that quickly became its core business.

In April 1983, at the Milan Trade Fair, RIMSA received its first award for the design of its halogen lighting, marking a turning point in the company's history. The company continued its research in the medical field and, in March 1992, was awarded the prestigious “Technological Innovation” certificate by the Milan Chamber of Commerce for the design of the Stellare open-spoke light, designed for laminar flow operating rooms.

Today, RIMSA remains a recognized leader in the medical lighting field, blending tradition and innovation to offer superior quality solutions to its clients worldwide.
