Gilson 334 HPLC pump: a high-performance pumping solution for preparative applications
The Gilson 334 HPLC pump is specifically designed to meet the high demands of high-performance liquid chromatography in a laboratory environment. It stands out for its ability to function as a secondary module in a binary configuration, where it is combined with the Gilson 333 pump. Together, these two units enable precise gradient management thanks to a high-pressure mixing system integrated into the main pump.
Designed without a front control panel, the Gilson 334 is intended for remote control, either by the 333 via a GSIOC connection or directly from the TRILUTION® LC software. This centralised approach optimises system control and reduces the risk of human error while facilitating integration into more complex chromatography or automated liquid handling systems.
The hydraulic heart of the pump is based on an H3 pump head, capable of delivering a flow rate ranging from 0.2 to 200 mL/min. This wide range, combined with a maximum pressure of 210 bar (3040 psi), makes it an ideal solution for purification or separation applications requiring larger volumes. For increased requirements, two pumps can be connected in parallel, doubling the flow rate to 400 mL/min while maintaining high accuracy.
The materials used in the parts in contact with the liquid, such as 316L stainless steel, ceramic, ruby, PTFE and titanium, ensure extensive chemical compatibility. This allows the user to work with a wide range of solvents, including the most aggressive ones, without compromising the longevity of the system.
In terms of integration, the Gilson 334 is equipped with GSIOC communication ports and mechanical switches for ID and baud rate configuration. It can be stacked or placed side by side with the 333 pump, depending on bench space constraints. The whole unit is easy to install thanks to a preformed piping system and a drip tray to prevent accidental contamination.
Maintenance is made easy by direct access to critical components such as pump heads, filters and piston flush chambers. The user can replace wear parts without the need for advanced technical skills, significantly reducing downtime.
The Gilson 334 is a reliable, powerful and scalable HPLC pump, perfectly suited to preparative laboratories requiring high flow capacity, stable accuracy and seamless software integration.
