Heraeus Multifuge 4KR Centrifuge: Performance and Versatility for Your Laboratory Needs
The Heraeus Multifuge 4KR centrifuge is a state-of-the-art piece of laboratory equipment designed to meet the needs of the most demanding environments, such as clinical, biotechnology, microbiology, pharmaceutical and blood processing laboratories. With a processing capacity of 4 litres or 4 x 500 ml for quadruple blood bags, this centrifuge stands out for its versatility and exceptional performance.
The Multifuge 4KR is equipped with a wide range of rotors, including swing-bucket rotors, swing-bucket rotors with protection, racks for clinical analysers and high-capacity fixed-angle rotors. This diversity allows it to be adapted to a variety of applications, from blood component separation to microplate and filter plate centrifugation. The centrifuge can accommodate up to 32 standard microplates or 8 deepwell plates, offering maximum flexibility for users.
One of the major advantages of the Multifuge 4KR is its SMARTspin imbalance detection system, which ensures optimal stability during centrifugation cycles. This system automatically detects and corrects imbalances, minimising the risk of interruptions or damage to samples. In addition, the centrifuge is equipped with a brushless induction drive, which significantly reduces maintenance requirements and extends the service life of the device.
Safety is a priority for the Multifuge 4KR. It offers five biocontainment-certified rotors that can accommodate samples from 1.5 to 1,000 ml. These rotors are designed to minimise the risk of contamination and ensure safe handling of biological samples. In addition, the new Diagnostik rotor allows preloaded tubes in clinical analyser racks to be centrifuged, simplifying sample preparation processes.
The Multifuge 4KR's user interface is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. The touch-sensitive keypad is easy to clean, which is essential for maintaining a clean and sterile laboratory environment. The centrifuge also offers a temperature range from -9°C to +40°C, allowing precise control of centrifugation conditions according to the specific requirements of each application.
