761 Compact IC from Metrohm – Compact ion chromatography system
The 761 Compact IC from Metrohm is an ion chromatography device designed to offer a complete solution in a compact format, while ensuring accurate and reproducible analyses. This system, which is fully controlled by a computer via an RS232 interface, integrates all the modules required for ion separation and detection in a single housing. It is available in two configurations: with or without a suppression module. This flexibility allows it to be adapted to the varied analytical needs of laboratories, whether for environmental, food, pharmaceutical or industrial analyses.
At the heart of the system is a high-pressure double-piston pump, characterised by extremely low pulsation and a flow range of 0.2 to 2.5 mL/min, with a maximum pressure of 25 MPa (250 bar). This pump ensures a stable flow, minimising pressure variations and effectively protecting the analytical column. A pulse damping device is integrated to enhance system stability. The perfectly insulated column compartment ensures constant thermal conditions and protects against electromagnetic interference, thus contributing to the accuracy of the results.
The 761 Compact IC is compatible with various Metrohm columns, whether for anions with or without suppression, cations or organic acids. It can be used for manual or automated injections with automatic samplers such as the 750 Autosampler or the 766 IC Sample Processor. Its metal-free detector, combined with a high-performance detector block, guarantees high sensitivity while avoiding the risk of metal contamination, which is particularly important for certain ionic analyses.
The instrument is also equipped with a leak detection system, ensuring operational safety and preventing potential damage. The PC interface, combined with the 761 PC Software, offers complete management of methods, acquisitions and data processing. Results can be easily saved, sorted and analysed using the included "Autodatabase" module, enabling optimised management of chromatograms and reports.
The compact design of the 761 Compact IC makes it the preferred choice for laboratories with limited space but requiring comprehensive, high-performance equipment. Its optimised internal structure facilitates maintenance and the integration of additional accessories, such as sample pre-treatment modules, various injection loops and suppression devices. The materials used in its construction, including PEEK and PTFE components, ensure high corrosion resistance and increased service life.
