IntelliVue TcG10 Module – High-precision transcutaneous blood gas monitoring
The Philips IntelliVue TcG10, reference 865298, is a highly specialised medical module for continuous transcutaneous measurement of partial pressure of oxygen (tcpO₂) and carbon dioxide (tcpCO₂) in neonatal, paediatric and adult patients. This device stands out for its ability to provide continuous respiratory data in a non-invasive manner, contributing to responsive and accurate patient care in intensive care, neonatal and resuscitation units.
The TcG10 is based on proven technology derived from Radiometer, ensuring optimal measurement accuracy. It is designed to work only in conjunction with a Philips IntelliVue patient monitor via the IntelliBridge EC5 ID and EC10 interface modules. This architecture allows for seamless integration into existing hospital environments while ensuring full interoperability with IntelliVue MP40, MP50, MP60, MP70, MP80, MP90 and MX800 models (with software revision ≥ H.0).
The TcG10 does not have its own user interface; all operations, including configuration, calibration, alarms and malfunction notifications (INOP), are controlled from the host monitor. This promotes a centralised and simplified user experience. The sensor is automatically calibrated every six hours when placed in the module's calibration chamber, ensuring constant availability and continuous measurement reliability.
The TcG10 should only be installed by qualified technicians and requires secure mounting using the Quick Mount system. It can also be fitted with a monitor bracket to directly accommodate the IntelliVue display. Once installed, the module is powered by AC (100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz) and consumes less than 20 W, making it an energy-efficient device.
Patient safety is paramount: the TcG10 complies with international electrical safety standards (IEC/EN 60601-1, UL60601-1) and provides for regular testing including earth resistance, leakage currents and assembly integrity. Performance tests are recommended every two years or after any suspected malfunction.
The compact module measures 304 x 92 x 234 mm and weighs approximately 3.8 kg. It is designed to operate in demanding hospital environments, with a temperature tolerance ranging from 5 to 40°C and at altitudes up to 3,800 m. It can withstand transport at temperatures as low as -20°C.
With its continuous monitoring system, clinical accuracy, seamless integration with the IntelliVue ecosystem and strict compliance with safety standards, the Philips IntelliVue TcG10 is an essential tool for transcutaneous blood gas monitoring, ensuring optimal care, particularly for vulnerable populations such as premature newborns.
