The ACUSON Redwood system: Cutting-edge imaging technology for accurate cardiac diagnostics
The ACUSON Redwood system stands out for its ability to provide high-performance imaging in a compact, mobile format. Designed for clinical environments where speed and accuracy are essential, it enables detailed visualisation of cardiac structures using technologies such as tissue Doppler, colour artefact suppression and transoesophageal imaging (TEE). These features enable clinicians to differentiate between active and passive myocardial motion, assess mitral valve morphology and physiology, and obtain reliable measurements even under budget constraints.
Intelligent workflow and artificial intelligence automation
ACUSON Redwood integrates artificial intelligence tools such as eSie Measure and eSie Left Heart, which automate 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac measurements. These tools enable fast and reproducible data acquisition, reducing keystrokes and exam time. The system automatically identifies cardiac views and traces the contours of the left ventricle and left atrium, facilitating the calculation of ejection fractions. Pulsed Doppler interrogation of the left ventricular outflow tract is also optimised by AI, ensuring increased efficiency in haemodynamic assessment.
Applications for improved clinical decision-making
The system offers a comprehensive suite of applications, including syngo Velocity Vector Imaging (VVI), which enables analysis of myocardial mechanics through Global Longitudinal Strain (GLS), Global Radial Strain (GRS) and Global Circumferential Strain (GCS) measurements. These tools are essential for the early detection of cardiac dysfunction. The Stress Echo module supports six predefined protocols and allows image acquisition in prospective, retrospective or continuous mode. Left ventricular opacification (LVO) improves tissue suppression and contrast visualisation, optimising ventricular function assessment.
