Alpha 1-4 LDplus & Alpha 2-4 LDplus freeze dryers: a reliable solution for laboratory freeze drying
The Alpha series of freeze dryers from Martin Christ are designed to meet the freeze drying requirements of laboratories, whether for research, development or small-scale production. This series consists of two main models: the Alpha 1-4 LDplus and the Alpha 2-4 LDplus, which differ mainly in their condensation temperature and power.
The Alpha 1-4 LDplus reaches a temperature of approximately -55°C, while the Alpha 2-4 LDplus goes down to -85°C, offering better handling capacity for substances with a low eutectic point. Both models have an ice condensation capacity of 4 kg for a maximum performance of 4 kg in 24 hours, with a chamber volume of approximately 6.5 litres. They can be used with round bottles, injection bottles with vacuum or nitrogen sealing, or with external heated shelves as part of the double chamber method.
Operation is via the LDplus system, which has a clear display for smooth navigation between operating parameters, measured values and settings. This system makes it intuitive to use, even for inexperienced users. Both models operate quietly at a noise level of only 54 dB(A), making them suitable for noise-sensitive environments.
Their compact size (dimensions: 415 x 390 x 520 mm, excluding connections) and low weight (42 kg for the Alpha 1-4, 55 kg for the Alpha 2-4) allow for easy integration into any laboratory. Thanks to their standard connections (vacuum DN25KF, purge DN10), they can be adapted to a wide range of available accessories.
They are equally suited to the freeze-drying of aqueous products and organic solvents, thanks to their robust design and precise temperature control. Their proven reliability makes them valuable allies for pharmaceutical, biological or chemical applications requiring optimal preservation of sensitive samples.
