A Versatile Device for Precision Anesthesia
The Dräger Cicero EM is an integrated workstation, specifically designed for the administration of inhalation anesthesia in adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Versatile and reliable, this device combines multiple functionalities to ensure optimal control of respiratory and anesthetic parameters while minimizing gas consumption. With its ergonomic and intuitive design, the Cicero EM enhances user comfort for healthcare professionals while ensuring maximum safety for patients.
This workstation offers several ventilation options, including Pressure Controlled Ventilation (PCV), Synchronized Intermittent Mandatory Ventilation (SIMV), and Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (IPPV). It also supports spontaneous and manual ventilation, with precise settings to adapt to the specific needs of each patient. The automatic recognition system for anesthetic agents allows for targeted administration and continuous monitoring of anesthetic gas concentrations, CO₂, and inspired oxygen.
The integrated monitor displays real-time respiratory parameters such as airway pressure, tidal volume, patient compliance, and respiratory temperature. It is also possible to monitor hemodynamic parameters, including oxygen saturation (SpO₂), electrocardiogram (ECG), invasive blood pressure (iBP), non-invasive blood pressure (NiBP), and body temperature.
The Cicero EM is compatible with a wide range of accessories, enhancing its flexibility in diverse medical environments. Essential accessories include anesthetic vaporizers for various agents (isoflurane, sevoflurane, enflurane), anesthetic gas scavenging (AGS) systems, and bronchial suction devices. Its modular design also allows for the connection of external equipment such as temperature sensors or additional monitors.
To optimize safety, this device performs self-tests before each use to check the integrity and compliance of key components. It is equipped with a visual and audible alarm system to alert users in case of critical parameter breaches. In the event of a power failure or interruption in gas supply, the Cicero EM automatically switches to backup modes, ensuring manual ventilation and oxygen supply.
Ideal for long or complex procedures, the Cicero EM is designed to minimize anesthetic gas losses through "low flow" and "minimal flow" techniques. These methods not only reduce costs but also contribute to a safer working environment for healthcare professionals by limiting exposure to residual gases.
The Cicero EM is easy to maintain with its removable and washable components. It adheres to the stringent hygiene standards in operating rooms, ensuring a reduction in the risk of cross-contamination.
