Vapor 19.3 Sevoflurane Anesthetic Vaporizer

The Vapor 19.3 Sevoflurane from Dräger is a vaporiser for the precise administration of sevoflurane in continuous flow anaesthesia systems. Designed for safe integration via the Interlock 2 system, it features a key-indexed filling system specifically coded for sevoflurane. Thanks to its passive thermal regulation, safety lock and reliability under variable conditions, it ensures constant and controlled dosing of sevoflurane, while complying with the most stringent clinical safety standards.

Description

Vapor 19.3 Sevoflurane: a Reliable Device for the Precise Administration of Sevoflurane in Medical Environments

The Vapor 19.3 Sevoflurane from Dräger is an anaesthetic vaporiser designed to accurately deliver sevoflurane into the fresh gas flow of modern anaesthesia machines. It is calibrated to ensure homogeneous and controlled enrichment in a concentration range of up to 8% by volume, which is specific to the configuration of sevoflurane. This model integrates with the Interlock 2 system, allowing two vaporisers to be installed while preventing their simultaneous activation, thus avoiding any cross-contamination of anaesthetic agents.

Its design is based on a regulated bypass principle: part of the fresh gas passes through the vaporisation chamber, where it becomes saturated with sevoflurane, while the other part passes through a bypass channel. The mixing ratio is then adjusted via a notched wheel, whose settings are locked at 0% to prevent handling errors. This mechanism is reinforced by a passive thermal compensator, based on the differential expansion of materials, ensuring dosage stability despite temperature fluctuations between 15 and 35°C.

The Vapor 19.3 for sevoflurane is equipped with a key-indexed filling system (ISO 5360 and prEN 1280 standards), preventing accidental filling with another agent. The device uses a coded adapter and a specific nozzle, minimising gas exposure and the risk of overfilling. Safety is enhanced by an automatic overflow function that stops filling as soon as the maximum level is reached, preventing any overflow.

The concentration delivered remains stable over a wide range of flow rates, from 250 mL/min to 10 L/min for concentrations above 5%, and up to 15 L/min for lower settings. The vaporiser maintains an accuracy of ±0.2 vol.% or ±20% of the target value, whichever is greater, which complies with international standards. In the event of accidental tilting or use in environments with variable pressure, built-in safety devices reduce the risk of incorrect dosing.

Reliable, leak-proof and designed for low agent loss when not in use (<0.25 mL/24 h), the Vapor 19.3 Sevoflurane is ideal for intensive use, including in demanding environments.
