ARCTIC A25 refrigerated/heated bath circulator: versatile thermal performance
The ARCTIC A25 from Thermo Fisher Scientific is a refrigerated/heated bath circulator designed to meet the precise temperature control needs of modern laboratories. Made of stainless steel, it combines robustness, reliability and performance in a compact format. With an extended temperature range from -25°C to +150°C, it is suitable for both cooling and heating applications, offering maximum flexibility for researchers and technicians.
The A25 is compatible with the AC150 and AC200 control heads, which enable fine temperature control with a stability of ±0.01 °C. These heads feature a digital display, five programmable setpoints, audible and visual alarms, and adjustable high-temperature protection. The system can also be connected to external temperature sensors and optional communication interfaces (RS232, RS485, Ethernet, etc.).
Robust design and integrated safety
The A25 bath is designed for indoor use in clean laboratory environments. It is equipped with an R134a refrigerant and offers a cooling capacity of 500 W at 20 °C. The bath volume varies between 7 and 12 litres, with internal dimensions of 200 x 173 x 184 mm. The system incorporates safety features such as over-temperature protection (HTC), low liquid level detection and clear error messages in the event of a malfunction.
The circulator has an optimised ventilation system to prevent the compressor from overheating and ensure consistent performance. It is also equipped with a 20 A automatic thermal circuit breaker to protect the unit from electrical overloads. Installation is made easy by clearly labelled electrical and communication connections on the rear of the unit.
Ease of use and simplified maintenance
Starting the system is intuitive: once the liquid has been added to the bath, the user can activate the circulator via the touchscreen interface. The system displays the current liquid temperature, the setpoint and status symbols (heating, cooling, pump). The circulator can be easily put on standby, stopped or restarted. It is also possible to program temperature ramps with defined times and cycles.
Maintenance is simplified thanks to easy access to internal components, a secure drainage system, and clear recommendations for cleaning the bath and condenser fins. The A25 model is compatible with several types of approved liquids, including distilled water, water/glycol mixtures, and SIL and SYNTH thermal fluids, according to the manufacturer's specifications.
