Agilent AriaDx: a complete solution for real-time quantitative PCR
Agilent's AriaDx system is a real-time quantitative PCR platform that integrates amplification, detection and data analysis in a single compact and versatile device. Designed for in vitro diagnostic applications, it combines a high-performance thermal cycler, an optimised LED optical system and intuitive software, enabling users to perform complex experiments with ease.
The touchscreen interface simplifies experiment setup and reduces the time needed to start an analysis. The software offers sophisticated data management features, such as LIMS connectivity and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance for secure and traceable results management.
One of the major advantages of the AriaDx is its modular design. The optical cartridges can be replaced directly in the lab, allowing the instrument to be quickly adapted to the specific needs of each experiment. This flexibility makes it possible to use one to six optical channels, with a choice of filters for dyes such as SYBR/FAM, HEX, ROX, CY3, CY5 and ATTO425.
The AriaDx also offers remarkable thermal performance. Thanks to its precise thermal control system, it maintains a temperature uniformity of ± 0.4 °C and an accuracy of ± 0.2 °C, ensuring reliable and reproducible results even for the most demanding applications. Data acquisition time is less than 3 seconds for all channels, making it one of the fastest instruments in its class.
The system supports a wide range of applications, including quantitative PCR (single-plex and multiplex), allele discrimination, gene expression analysis, pathogen quantification and NGS library preparation. No manual calibration is required thanks to factory calibration, reducing technical intervention and maintaining a high level of performance throughout the instrument's lifetime.
The AriaDx integrates easily into laboratory workflows thanks to its multiple operating modes: stand-alone, connected to a PC or in a LAN network for simultaneous management of multiple instruments. It also offers on-board diagnostic capabilities that monitor critical points of the device before each analysis, ensuring continuity of operations and minimising downtime.
