ASI-100 automatic injector

The ASI-100 from Thermo Fisher Scientific is a high-performance automatic injector for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Designed for unattended operation, it offers great flexibility of use, optimal injection accuracy thanks to its in-line split-loop system, and sampling capacity that can be adapted to different vial formats. With its integrated safety features and maximum reduction in sample loss, the ASI-100 is ideal for laboratories requiring reliability, autonomy and efficiency in their HPLC analyses.

Description

ASI-100 automatic injector for HPLC: precision and autonomy in the laboratory

The ASI-100 from Thermo Fisher Scientific is an automatic injector designed to optimise the automation of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods. Robust and reliable, it has been designed for intensive laboratory use while offering smooth and safe operation. Thanks to its integrated split-loop injection system, where the needle is an integral part of the sampling loop, the injected volume is extremely accurate while significantly minimising sample loss. This process allows as little as 5 µL of sample to be used per injection, which is particularly advantageous for laboratories handling limited volumes.

The ASI-100 offers remarkable flexibility. Its removable carousel, divided into three sectors, allows different vial sizes to be configured to meet the varied needs of laboratories. Each sector can accommodate different types of vials, and automatic segment and vial identification simplifies the programming of sampling sequences. Users can therefore maximise productivity by adapting the system to the specific requirements of each analysis.

The ASI-100 can be programmed directly via its intuitive front panel or through the CHROMELEON™ chromatography management software, which allows advanced sample planning, random accessibility and automatic documentation of measurement conditions via the Audit Trail function. The Quick Sample function allows a sequence in progress to be interrupted to process a priority sample, then automatically resume the initial sequence, optimising laboratory responsiveness and flexibility.

The reliability of the ASI-100 is also based on its safety features: automatic vial recognition, obstacle detection, safety shutdown in case of excessive needle resistance, and overflow sensor. All mechanical operations are monitored internally to ensure safe operation.

Designed with maintenance in mind, the ASI-100 facilitates replacement of the syringe and sampling loop via direct front access. The device also records all its actions using an internal counting system, allowing wear on essential components such as the needle, needle seal and syringe itself to be monitored.

Thanks to its compact size and operation without compressed air, the ASI-100 fits easily into any laboratory environment, offering a sampling capacity of up to 192 vials depending on the configuration chosen.
