Atomic Absorption Spectrometer AAnalyst 800 - Fair Condition

The PerkinElmer AAnalyst 800 Atomic Absorption Spectrometer combines two atomization techniques – graphite furnace and flame – in a single compact system. With automated switching between modes, effective background correction (Zeeman and deuterium), and an integrated automatic sampler, it allows for precise and reproducible elemental analyses. Controlled by the AA WinLab software, it ensures comprehensive management of analysis protocols from the computer, providing a high level of control and consistency. Ideal for laboratories requiring reliable measurements across a wide range of elements.

Description

AAnalyst 800 PerkinElmer: Flame and Graphite Furnace Metal Analysis

The AAnalyst 800 is an atomic absorption spectrometer designed to offer maximum flexibility to laboratories by integrating the two most commonly used atomization techniques: flame and graphite furnace. This compact system enables automatic switching between both modes, allowing rapid adaptation to analytical needs. It is intended for the quantitative trace analysis of metallic elements in a wide variety of sample types, including environmental, biological, industrial, and food matrices.

The instrument features a true double-beam optical system, ensuring measurement stability and minimizing interferences. It uses a Littrow-configured diffraction grating covering a wavelength range from 190 to 870 nm. Three spectral slit widths are available, with adjustable heights depending on the technique used. The segmented solid-state detector with CMOS amplification delivers accurate measurements, even on low-intensity signals, while maintaining linearity across the entire dynamic range.

The transverse graphite furnace incorporates STPF (Stabilized Temperature Platform Furnace) technology and longitudinal Zeeman-effect background correction, providing excellent precision for trace-level determinations. For flame analyses, deuterium background correction is applied. Automated control of the burner, gases, and temperatures ensures consistent reproducibility while complying with safety standards for handling combustible gases.

The AA WinLab software, operating under Windows, is the primary control interface. It allows users to configure analytical methods, manage calibrations (up to 15 standard solutions), and view real-time absorbance signals and calibration curves. It also includes quality control tools, performance diagnostics, and modules for generating customizable reports. Context-sensitive help is available throughout the analytical workflow.

The AAnalyst 800 features a high-capacity autosampler for graphite furnace analysis, mounted on an articulated arm, along with a water-circulation cooling system. Accessory ports enable connection of a flow injector or a sample diluter, depending on the analytical method used. Up to eight HCL or EDL lamps can be simultaneously mounted on the carousel, streamlining multi-element analysis preparation.

Designed for both routine and research use, the AAnalyst 800 delivers reliable results while optimizing hands-on time. It is ideal for laboratories requiring a versatile system capable of handling a wide range of sample matrices with stringent precision and sensitivity requirements.
