The Topcon RM-800 auto refractometer is a medical device designed to provide precise and stable refraction measurements. It also offers the option to automatically measure the pupillary distance (PD), simplifying the refraction process.
This refractometer offers two special modes: cataract mode and child mode, making it versatile for different types of patients. Additionally, it provides an indication of the reliability index for each measurement, ensuring confidence in the results obtained. The 8.5-inch touchscreen facilitates navigation and control of the device, enhancing the user experience.
The compact design of the RM-800 makes it convenient for use in medical clinics. Moreover, it is equipped with a built-in printer, allowing professionals to generate instant reports for their patients. Integration with the IMAGEnet i-base database software facilitates data management and communication of results to patients.
The RM-800 refractometer is designed to offer smooth and gentle movements thanks to its Rotary Prism Technology. Compared to its predecessor, it has benefited from a 23% weight reduction, which improves joystick control accuracy, leads to faster and more accurate measurements, and makes X-Y movements smoother, ensuring precise measurement taking.
This technology enables objective measurements of both eyes, even in cases of extreme visual impairments.
In addition to its unique features, the RM-800 offers an extended measurement range. It measures refractive power of the sphere from -25D to +22D, cylinder from 0D to ±10D, and axis from 0° to 180°. Moreover, it is capable of measuring through small pupils as small as 2mm in diameter, making it suitable for a variety of clinical cases.
