Optopol PTS 1000: Cutting-Edge Vision Diagnostic Instrument with Kinetic Perimetry and Flickering Stimuli
The Optopol PTS 1000 is a modern diagnostic instrument for precise and fast testing in the field of vision. It offers both static and kinetic stimuli with all Goldmann stimulus sizes and all stimulus colors used in perimetry. A wide range of strategies and analysis tools, combined with an intuitive interface, provides a powerful diagnostic tool that you will appreciate handling.
With integrated maps and the ability to create your own, you have the chance to examine only the necessary areas. With the PTS 1000, exams no longer need to be tiring. Standard vision tests are performed according to the chosen strategy, allowing you to define the sensitivity and threshold of the retina in a given area, as well as perform a quick screening test.
Precise thresholds, intelligent advanced thresholds, and the option to quickly select test zones every 3 enable adjustment to the needs and conditions of the patient. An advanced strategy saves time, allowing for faster exams without compromising result resolution. It is possible to test up to 30-2 fields in less than 3 minutes. Additionally, three levels of precision can be selected.
The "Field Reduction" and "Neurological Field Reduction" options help reduce examination time for other strategies. Examination reliability can be estimated based on false negative and false positive tests. A built-in digital camera allows for ocular detection during the examination and adjustment of the patient's position during the test.
Thanks to the fixation tracking system, continuous automatic fixation control is possible. When the patient loses fixation, the blind spot is examined, and a special attraction mechanism is activated. The well-known Heijl-Krakau method allows for blind spot tracking and monitoring of examination reliability. All reliability indices are presented in examination results and in printouts.
Thanks to the kinetic strategy, it is possible to examine patients with large defects that make static examination difficult. Four stimulus colors, adjustable Goldmann sizes, adjustable stimulus velocity, silent operation, integrated programs, along with the option to retest arbitrary vectors defined by the user, make the PTS 1000 a cutting-edge product for kinetic perimetry.
The device also enables examination by means of flickering stimuli for Critical Fusion Frequency (CFF) measurement. CFF is used as an index of fatigue and is clinically applied to neuro-ophthalmologic disorders derived from optic nerve disorder, especially for diagnosis and evaluation of glaucoma.
Color perimetry PTS 1000 offers white, blue, red, and green stimuli on white or yellow backgrounds. Apart from classic perimetry, it enables us to use the "blue on yellow" (SWAP) examination method, which utilizes the fact of earlier loss of sensitivity to color-based stimuli than to white-on-white stimulus-based testing. Red color can additionally be used for diagnosis of toxic vision losses.
Binocular capabilities Implemented BSV strategy allows examination of diplopic areas. Testing of drivers is also possible thanks to included extended field, which enables testing field up to 80 degrees temporally, and Binocular Drivers Test with Esterman's score.
The new interface presents results as four easy-to-interpret graphic charts, which can be freely selected from available analysis tools. Results can be presented in form of numerical maps of sensitivity in dB, intuitive dotscale, or color map for faster identification of out-of-norm regions. The new interface allows easy follow-up, enabling examination of both present and past examinations of one patient on one screen.
Printout PTS 1000 software has a new printout manager module. It gives a great degree of freedom in deciding what should be on a printout and where it should be. The possibility to save own layouts as well as access to predefined templates makes PTS 1000 software a very powerful tool which is easy to handle even by non-experienced operators. Printouts may look and contain information as Octopus' or Humphrey's depending on doctor's custom.
