Nikon NL-30: Versatility and Precision for Eye Care Professionals
The Nikon NL-30 is a high-precision automatic keratometer designed to meet clinical and optical requirements for measuring ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses. Thanks to its light beam detection system and LCD screen with adjustable backlighting, it allows direct reading of optical data as soon as the lens is placed on the plate. It supports the measurement of single vision, multifocal and progressive lenses, and even rigid and soft contact lenses with high reliability.
The NL-30 features a clear display of spherical (S), cylindrical (C), axis (AX), prism (P) and addition (ADD) powers. It can store up to 200 sets of data, which can then be printed via an integrated thermal printer, optimised for fast printing on 60 µm thermal paper. Precise marking of optical centres is facilitated by a visual alignment indicator that ensures a deviation tolerance of less than 0.3 mm for marking and 0.25 mm for measurement.
The NL-30 has dedicated modes for contact lenses. In "Hard" or "Soft" mode, it provides reliable measurement by adapting to the specific characteristics of each type of lens, with a dedicated concave support for correct lens alignment. It automatically recognises whether a lens belongs to the right or left eye thanks to a lens positioning sensor.
The NL-30's control panel includes several function keys that can be configured according to the type of lens or the desired reading mode (positive or negative cylindrical display, prism display in Cartesian or polar coordinates, etc.). Its RS-232C interface allows connection to external devices for the transfer of measured data.
Robust and compact, the NL-30 is designed for intensive use. It has an automatic energy-saving system that turns off the screen after 5 minutes of inactivity, while keeping the device ready for use. Its marking system is replaceable, and maintenance is simplified thanks to direct access to components such as the paper roll, marking cartridge and LCD panel.
The NL-30 is an essential tool in any optical or ophthalmological facility looking for fast, accurate and ergonomic measurement of all types of lenses.
