Description

Vapodest 20 Distillation System: Reliable Performance for Kjeldahl Laboratory Distillations

The Vapodest 20 by Gerhardt is an automatic steam distillation system specifically designed for Kjeldahl nitrogen analysis. Developed in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 quality standards, it is ideal for laboratories seeking a combination of performance, safety, and ease of use. This system automatically performs the steam distillation of Kjeldahl digestions and associated distillations, with automated sodium hydroxide (NaOH) addition, ensuring optimal reproducibility of analytical results.

Engineered to meet the demands of modern laboratory environments, the Vapodest 20 features a high-performance microcontroller and a chemical-resistant keypad, allowing for custom programming of distillation cycles. Its RS 485 communication interface enables connection to a computer or integration into a quality control network in compliance with ISO/GLP protocols, making it a perfect fit for regulated and demanding environments.

Safety is at the core of its design: the Vapodest 20 is protected against electrical overloads via an integrated circuit breaker and must be operated only by trained personnel. It is not suitable for humid or corrosive environments, ensuring the device’s longevity. Its compact housing, with optional protective plexiglass doors, ensures safe and risk-free operation during distillation processes.

Every step of the distillation process is fully automated — from system priming to final rinsing. The Vapodest 20 handles initial steam generator filling, sample distillation into boric acid solution, and cleaning of the NaOH lines. With its intuitive control panel, users can easily adjust parameters such as distillation time, steam output, and reaction delay.

Designed for installation on a fixed laboratory bench, the Vapodest 20 simply connects to a cold water supply and drainage system. It supports multiple digestion tube volumes (100 ml, 250 ml, or 500 ml), offering outstanding versatility.

Thanks to its efficiency, robust construction, and integration into laboratory management systems, the Vapodest 20 is an essential tool for routine Kjeldahl analysis. With high-quality components and low maintenance requirements, it offers a long service life and excellent return on investment.
