The G1367A Wellplate Autosampler is a sophisticated addition to the Agilent 1100 HPLC Series, designed to enhance efficiency and precision in high-throughput liquid chromatography applications. This autosampler can accommodate various sample formats, including up to 384-well plates or 100 x 2 ml vials, making it an ideal choice for laboratories handling large volumes of samples.

One of the standout features of the G1367A is its thermostatted sample tray. This tray can hold both shallow and deep well plates, as well as up to 10 additional 2.0 ml vials. The ability to manage such a variety of sample types and quantities enhances the versatility of the autosampler, allowing for a wide range of analytical applications. The wellplate can handle up to 384 wells on a footprint of 128x86 mm, ensuring compatibility with various laboratory requirements.

The autosampler’s transport mechanism utilizes an X-Z-theta robotic system, optimizing the positioning of the sampling arm with high precision. This mechanism ensures that samples are accurately drawn and injected onto the column.

To further enhance performance, the G1367A includes a vial/plate pusher mechanism that holds the vial or well plate securely during sampling. The pusher mechanism is equipped with sensors to detect the presence of the plate, ensuring proper operation and minimizing the risk of errors.

The autosampler is equipped with a high-speed hybrid stepper motor that drives the six-port injection valve unit. This setup ensures that all samples are efficiently injected onto the column and that the metering unit and needle are thoroughly cleaned before the next sampling sequence.

Additionally, the autosampler includes an extra needle flush station with a peristaltic pump designed to clean the outside of the needle. This feature further reduces carry-over and enhances the accuracy of sensitive analyses. The wash procedure is safely managed with waste directed away through a dedicated drain.

Temperature control is provided by an additional module from the Agilent 1100 Series, the ALS thermostat. This module uses Peltier-controlled heat exchangers and a fan to regulate the temperature of the air surrounding the sample tray. This ensures even temperature distribution, effective temperature control, and prevents condensation, which is safely managed via a waste bottle.
