The BaXstrap from Laerdal: excellence in emergency care
In critical situations where every second counts, Laerdal's BaXstrap spinal board stands out as an essential tool for emergency responders. Designed to meet the most stringent requirements for safety, comfort and durability, it is a complete solution for the immobilisation and transport of patients with known or suspected spinal injuries.
Manufactured from high-density polyethylene using rotational moulding, the BaXstrap offers exceptional resistance to impact, corrosion and fluids. Its one-piece construction with no perforations or seams ensures a perfect seal and minimises the risk of contamination. Thanks to its ergonomic, contoured design, it moulds to the shape of the patient's body, improving positioning and comfort while encouraging cooperation from the injured person.
Lightweight (approx. 6.1 kg) but capable of supporting loads of up to 360 kg, the BaXstrap is one of the most rigid boards on the market. It is equipped with 14 extra-wide, textured handles spaced from the ground, allowing for a quick and secure grip, even with thick gloves. The 12 integrated rods facilitate the installation of support straps, including the "X" strapping technique, without interfering with the handles.
Compatible with X-rays, MRIs and CT scans, the BaXstrap allows medical treatment without removing the patient from the board. It is also buoyant, making it ideal for aquatic interventions.
The board is available in two colours (yellow and green) and can be customised with private branding moulded into the structure, preventing loss or theft. It is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, from -34°C to +52°C.
Used by emergency services, paramedics, firefighters and rescue teams in remote locations, Laerdal's BaXstrap is the go-to choice for reliable, durable and comfortable spinal immobilisation.
