BBS-H1300 horizontal laminar flow hood: safety, comfort and control for a sterile working environment
The BBS-H1300 horizontal laminar flow hood from Biobase is designed to provide a workspace protected from airborne contaminants. Intended for controlled environments such as biotechnology laboratories, research facilities or high-precision industries, it ensures uniform, horizontally directed filtered airflow to protect samples while providing comfort and visibility for the operator.
The enclosure is constructed from cold-rolled steel coated with an antibacterial powder treatment, ensuring both robustness and resistance to chemicals. The worktop is made of 304 stainless steel, renowned for its durability, ease of maintenance and excellent corrosion resistance. The transparent side walls and 5 mm tempered glass front provide maximum visibility while blocking UV rays. This configuration offers the user a bright and unobstructed working area, while maintaining the required safety standards.
The filtration system is based on a high-efficiency HEPA filter, achieving a filtration rate of 99.995% for particles of 0.3 microns. The ambient air first passes through a washable polyester pre-filter, extending the life of the main filter. The air flow rate is between 0.3 and 0.5 m/s, ensuring a constant speed and a clean environment.
For user comfort, the model includes an LCD display that allows real-time monitoring of air speed, UV lamp usage time and system operating time. The UV lamp, emitting at 253.7 nanometres, ensures effective disinfection of the work area between uses. Two integrated waterproof sockets allow equipment to be connected directly inside the hood without compromising its watertightness. The front window is motorised, with a maximum opening of 430 mm, facilitating access and handling of instruments. The system is mounted on universal castors with levelling feet to ensure perfect stability.
