The Sigma 2-16 KL is designed to offer an optimal balance between performance, versatility and ease of use. Thanks to its compact design, it fits easily into all types of laboratories, while offering a generous capacity of up to 4 x 100 ml in a swing-bucket rotor or 4 x 85 ml in a fixed rotor.
This universal centrifuge stands out for its ability to work with a wide range of rotors and accessories, allowing it to process different tube formats, including PCR microtubes, conical tubes, microplates and blood collection tubes. Its extensive portfolio of rotors, ranging from high-capacity models to high-speed rotors, ensures optimal adaptation to every protocol.
Precise performance and temperature control
The Sigma 2-16 KL stands out thanks to its powerful cooling system, which is capable of maintaining a stable temperature between -10 °C and +40 °C, even at maximum speed. The Rapid Temp pre-cooling function ensures that the chamber and accessories reach the desired temperature before the cycle starts, preserving the integrity of heat-sensitive samples.
With speeds of up to 15,300 rpm and a maximum relative centrifugal force of 21,913 x g, it is suitable for a wide range of applications, from the separation of cell components to the processing of large quantities of culture samples. Precise settings are easy to achieve with the Spincontrol L controller, which features a clear backlit LCD display and an intuitive interface. Users can store up to 50 programmes, select from 10 acceleration and braking curves, and fine-tune the speed or temperature in precise increments.
