Description

The Maxisafe 2030i BSC: Biological Safety and Control in High-Risk Environments

The Maxisafe 2030i BSC range by Thermo Fisher Scientific has been developed to meet the demands of the most stringent work environments, such as laboratories handling CMR compounds (carcinogenic, mutagenic, or reprotoxic substances), hospital pharmacies compliant with USP <800>, and biotechnology research centers. Designed as an effective barrier against cross-contamination, this Class II biological safety cabinet is certified to both EN 12469 and DIN 12980, ensuring optimal protection for the operator, the product, and the environment.

The Maxisafe 2030i stands out with its three-stage filtration system, combining HEPA H14 filters with 99.995% efficiency (MPPS) according to EN 1822 standards. This setup enables an ISO Class 5 work environment, ensuring continuous air purification and significantly reducing the risk of particle or pathogen dispersion. The bag-in/bag-out configuration for filter replacement ensures safe and secure interventions.

The technical design of this range is based on two key technologies: SmartFlow Plus and DAVe Plus. The former automatically adjusts fan speeds based on filter load, while the latter uses independent pressure sensors to monitor real-time inflow and downflow air velocities. Together, they ensure stable internal conditions regardless of usage fluctuations or filter saturation, without requiring manual adjustments.

From the user's perspective, every detail is crafted for optimal handling: a 10° sloped front window, a motorized sash opening up to 773 mm, a spacious work area, and powerful LED lighting to reduce visual fatigue. The interior is made entirely of 316L stainless steel, resistant to chemical agents and easy to clean, with a satin finish that reduces glare and micro-scratches.

The user interface features a color touchscreen, providing centralized control over all cabinet functions: ventilation, lighting, UV cycles, event logging, and maintenance management. Data can be exported via USB or monitored remotely via the dedicated mobile app, allowing continuous supervision even outside the laboratory.

All standard sizes are available (0.9 m – 1.2 m – 1.5 m – 1.8 m), each equipped with a single-piece 316L stainless steel indented worktop, DIN 12980 certified. Modular options are also available: segmented worktops, anti-vibration surfaces, sink modules, or padded armrests.

The Maxisafe 2030i is designed for professionals seeking a reliable, high-performance, and ergonomic cabinet for safe handling of sensitive or hazardous substances. With its connectivity, precision, and user-centered design, it integrates seamlessly into GMP-compliant or hospital environments.
