Agilent BioTek MultiFlo FX: automated liquid dispenser for microplates with versatile performance
The Agilent BioTek MultiFlo FX is a fully automated reagent dispenser designed to offer maximum versatility in laboratories using microplates with 6 to 1,536 wells. It is a modular system that can be adapted to many applications thanks to the integration of exclusive technologies such as Parallel Dispense, the RAD (Random Access Dispense) module andAutomated Media Exchange (AMX). These innovations allow the instrument to replace several liquid handling systems, reducing space requirements, equipment costs and handling time.
One of the strengths of the MultiFlo FX is its ability to handle liquid dispensing, washing, shaking, soaking and media exchange. It can therefore be integrated efficiently into complex workflows, whether for cell imaging or biochemical analyses. Thanks to Parallel Dispense technology, up to four reagents can be dispensed simultaneously without cross-contamination, optimising throughput while ensuring high flexibility.
The AMX module, meanwhile, enables automated and gentle media exchange, ideal for spheroid or suspension cell cultures. 2D or 3D cell structures remain intact, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. RAD technology offers the ability to dispense customised volumes into specific wells independently, which is particularly useful in concentration standardisation assays or differentiated tests on the same plate. This not only saves considerable time when setting up protocols, but also increases accuracy.
The MultiFlo FX is compatible with several automation solutions such as BioStack, BioSpa 8 or BenchCel, facilitating its integration into complete robotic systems. It can be controlled via a local touchscreen or dedicated computer software, with a user-friendly interface for creating, modifying and executing multiple protocols.
Designed for reliability and accuracy, the MultiFlo FX guarantees precise dispensing and washing across a wide range of volumes (from 500 nL to 30 mL) with accuracy of up to ±1% and minimal coefficient of variation (CV). Customised modules are also available to adapt the system to specific user requirements, whether for different plate types, critical volumes or specific dispensing speeds.
