Black Max: pneumatic performance for surgical bone dissection
The Black Max from Anspach is a high-precision pneumatic instrument designed for surgeries requiring effective and controlled bone dissection. With a rotation speed of up to 80,000 rpm at a pressure of 120 psi (8.3 bar), it offers consistent, quiet performance suitable for the most demanding surgical environments. Its compact, lightweight design (70 g for the motor alone) allows for comfortable handling, reducing fatigue during long procedures.
The Black Max is specifically indicated for bone cutting and shaping, particularly in the fields of neurosurgery, spinal surgery and ENT procedures. It is designed to work exclusively with the Black Max range of dissection tools and accessories, ensuring perfect compatibility and enhanced safety.
Safety and control: a system designed for surgical environments
Safety is at the heart of the Black Max design. The locking and unlocking system is engraved directly on the motor housing, with "SECURE" and "RELEASE" markings to facilitate accessory installation. A lever on top of the motor locks or releases the dissection tools. If the tool is not inserted correctly, the lever cannot be lowered, thus preventing any mishandling.
Continuous irrigation is essential to prevent heat build-up, which could cause tissue damage or discomfort to the surgeon. The Black Max must never be used as a lever or retractor, and the dissection tools must be handled with care to avoid breakage or distal migration.
Maintenance, compatibility and dedicated accessories
The Black Max works with the AutoLube III system, which ensures optimal lubrication of the pneumatic motor. It is essential to maintain a constant air pressure and to check the oil level regularly. The AutoLube III system must never be immersed or sterilised, and the components must be cleaned according to Anspach's specific protocols.
Compatible accessories include straight and angled motors, craniotomes, drill guides, quick-angle attachments (QD), and single-use dissection tools. Each tool is identified by a colour code and style number, ensuring traceability and perfect matching with the corresponding attachment.
The Black Max is certified to IEC and UL standards and bears the CE 0086 mark. It is intended exclusively for medical use under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional.
