BN ProSpec System: a powerful and compact analyser for plasma protein analysis
The BN ProSpec System from Siemens is a solution for laboratories requiring reliable and efficient plasma protein analysis. Specially designed for low- and medium-volume environments, this automated analyser combines compactness, versatility and accuracy. It supports a wide range of specialised and routine parameters, meeting the needs of healthcare professionals in various fields such as cardiovascular risk assessment, kidney disease, nutritional deficiencies and anaemia.
The system is based on Siemens' proven nephelometric technology, which measures the intensity of scattered light for highly reliable results. The integration of multi-point calibration, level detection for samples and reagents, and on-board refrigerated storage ensure continuous operation and increased result security. The effective throughput of approximately 65 tests per hour and storage capacity for 1.5 hours of unattended operation optimise workflows and reduce the operational workload.
The BN ProSpec System also features a barcode reader for automatic identification of primary samples, standards, controls and reagents, enhancing traceability and safety. It offers features such as automatic sample dilution, configurable automatic repeats and secure interruption of analyses for calibration or reloading without loss of data.
The BN ProSpec test menu covers more than 64 test protocols, including parameters for screening and monitoring monoclonal gammopathies, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, chronic alcoholism and much more. Assays include kappa and lambda free light chains, cystatin C for renal function assessment, CardioPhase® hsCRP for cardiovascular risk, and CDT (% carbohydrate-deficient transferrin) for the diagnosis of alcoholism.
