BSC-1100IIIX from Biobase – Class III microbiological safety cabinet for full containment
The Biobase BSC-1100IIIX is designed to meet the most stringent biological safety requirements in high-security environments. Completely airtight and gas-tight, it allows safe handling of Class I, II, III and IV pathogens. This model is particularly suitable for P3 and P4 containment laboratories, where microbiological risk control is paramount.
Its dual ULPA filter system ensures an exceptional level of protection. The extracted air passes through two filtration stages with a typical efficiency of 99.9995% on particles of 0.12 μm, ensuring that even the finest particles cannot be released into the environment. The supply air is also filtered to the same level, creating an effective barrier against cross-contamination.
Ergonomics is also at the heart of the BSC-1100IIIX design. The sloped front allows the operator to work in a comfortable position while reducing fatigue during long handling operations. The internal work area is made of 304 stainless steel, a durable, corrosion-resistant and easy-to-decontaminate material. Powerful LED lighting, exceeding 1000 lux, ensures excellent visibility of the work area, even during complex operations.
User and environmental safety is enhanced by a comprehensive set of control devices. The BSC-1100IIIX has visual and audible alarms in case of abnormal pressure or when filters need to be replaced. The LCD display control panel allows critical parameters such as internal negative pressure (≥120 Pa) and filter status to be viewed in real time. In addition, an integrated memory system allows parameters to be restored after a power failure, thus avoiding any loss of configuration.
Access to the work area is via 800 mm butyl rubber gloves, which are completely airtight and guarantee total containment. The front window is made of 8 mm UV-resistant tempered glass, providing additional protection against UV emissions. A UV lamp emitting at 253.7 nm is integrated to ensure effective disinfection of the work area between uses.
For the safe transfer of samples and equipment, the BSC-1100IIIX is equipped with a hermetic pass-through. This allows items to be inserted and removed without compromising the integrity of the enclosure. The system also includes a washable polyester fibre pre-filter, optimising the service life of the main ULPA filters.
