C-MAG HS 7 – The heating stirrer combining power, precision and safety
The C-MAG HS 7 from IKA is the tool of choice for laboratories requiring magnetic stirring combined with a powerful and controlled heating function. This model features a 180 x 180 mm ceramic heating plate, a material known for its exceptional resistance to corrosive chemicals while ensuring uniform heat distribution. The smooth, white plate also allows for better visibility of colour changes in solutions, which is crucial for many chemical analyses.
Designed for intensive use, the C-MAG HS 7 is capable of stirring up to 10 litres of water thanks to its robust motor with an output power of 1.5 W, ensuring homogeneous stirring even at full capacity. The speed is adjustable using a rotary knob with a scale from 0 to 6, allowing the speed to be modulated from 100 to 1500 rpm according to experimental requirements. The direction of rotation is fixed to the left, optimising continuous mixing.
One of the major advantages of this device is its precise temperature control. It is equipped with a digital LED display that shows the set temperature and a control knob for adjusting the temperature from 50°C to 500°C with a resolution of 5 K. For applications requiring even greater precision, the interface for an external probe (such as the ETS-D5 according to DIN 12878) allows direct control of the temperature in the liquid, making the process reliable and reproducible.
User safety is a priority for IKA. The C-MAG HS 7 is therefore equipped with a fixed safety circuit at 550 °C to prevent accidental overheating. It also features a "Hot Top" indicator light that warns that the surface is still hot, even after the heating has been switched off, to prevent the risk of burns. In addition, the control panel is raised, protecting the controls from splashes or accidental leaks.
Compact and robust, the device measures only 220 x 105 x 335 mm and weighs 5 kg, making it easy to integrate into a laboratory bench while offering excellent stability during operation. It is designed to operate in ambient conditions between 5 and 40 °C with relative humidity up to 80%, meeting the demanding standards of research environments.
The C-MAG HS 7 is ideal for applications in organic chemistry, molecular biology or quality control, where reliability, precision and safety cannot be compromised.
