The Binder C170 CO₂ incubator has been designed to meet the rigorous requirements of laboratories specialising in cell cultures, guaranteeing a stable, reproducible and contamination-free growth atmosphere. Thanks to its hot air sterilisation technology reaching 180°C, it safely and effectively eliminates germs without the use of chemical agents. This self-sterilisation function is an essential guarantee of biological safety, particularly important for sensitive applications such as medical research, biotechnology and pharmacology.

The technological heart of the C170 is its highly accurate, drift-free infrared CO₂ sensor, which maintains a stable pH environment. Unlike traditional sensors that are subject to humidity variations, this sensor is insensitive to ambient conditions, ensuring consistent and reliable measurement. The gas diffusion system is based on a Venturi effect injector, optimising the distribution of CO₂ in the chamber in a homogeneous manner.

Passive humidification with condensation protection allows relative humidity levels of up to 95% to be achieved, which is ideal for demanding cell cultures. Maintaining this humidity level is essential to prevent crops from drying out, while ensuring uniform moisture distribution throughout the chamber. The 168-litre inner chamber is made of stainless steel with no welds or corners, making it easy to clean thoroughly and quickly and minimising the risk of contaminant retention.

The ergonomic design of the C170 includes a tempered safety glass inner door, which allows crops to be monitored visually without disturbing the internal environment. The unit is equipped with avisual and audible alarm system to signal any technical faults, as well as a potential-free alarm contact for easy integration into monitoring systems.

In addition, the model is available with a reversible door (left or right) depending on installation constraints, and can be stacked using a specific adapter, saving valuable space in laboratories. Its intuitive user interface, consisting of a 3-digit LED display, makes it easy to read and program parameters.
