Wider View and Clinical Precision: The Philips C9-4V for Endocavitary Imaging Excellence
The Philips C9-4V transducer is a state-of-the-art endocavitary probe designed for high-performance ultrasound imaging in gynecology, obstetrics, and urology. Featuring broadband technology and 128 elements, this probe ensures consistently high-resolution images across its 9 to 4 MHz frequency range. This broad frequency capability allows clinicians to capture detailed images of both superficial and deeper pelvic structures, which is critical for accurately detecting pathologies, monitoring pregnancy, and assessing internal organs in urological exams.
A major strength of the C9-4V lies in its tightly curved array design and 26.2 mm aperture, which support optimal positioning during endocavitary exams. With an impressive 181° field of view, the probe enables comprehensive visualization of the pelvic area, often eliminating the need for repositioning. This wide-angle view is especially advantageous for bilateral ovary imaging or tracking uterine structures over time.
The C9-4V supports a full range of advanced imaging modes that enhance ultrasound diagnostics. These include steerable pulsed wave Doppler, enabling precise measurement of blood flow in targeted directions, as well as color Doppler and Color Power Angio (CPA)—including directional CPA—for thorough vascular analysis. It also supports harmonic imaging, XRES (adaptive image processing), and SonoCT (compound imaging), all of which contribute to enhanced contrast, reduced artifacts, and improved image clarity in real time.
The probe is biopsy-capable, making it suitable for guided interventions and echo-assisted sampling. While it does not support image fusion navigation, the C9-4V still offers sufficient precision for minor interventional procedures in the pelvic region.
Designed with both patient and operator comfort in mind, the C9-4V’s ergonomic construction facilitates gentle insertion and stable positioning, minimizing motion artifacts and improving the quality of the scan.
The C9-4V represents an essential tool for clinicians specializing in pelvic imaging, offering high-end performance, precision, and diagnostic versatility in a single, easy-to-use device.
