Philips X5-1: xMATRIX Array Transducer with PureWave Technology
The Philips X5-1 is a premium ultrasound probe designed to meet the demands of healthcare professionals for high-quality diagnostic imaging. Utilizing xMATRIX and PureWave technology, it provides outstanding image resolution, enhanced penetration, and reduced artifacts for more accurate diagnoses.
The X5-1 transducer is specifically designed for adult and pediatric cardiac applications, abdominal vascular exams, and transcranial Doppler (TCD) studies. Its 90° field of view in 2D mode and 98° x 98° volume imaging capability offer a wide and detailed visualization of internal structures. It features multiple advanced imaging modes, including 2D, M-mode, pulsed-wave (PW) and continuous-wave (CW) Doppler, harmonic imaging, and Advanced XRES, which improve image quality and reduce noise.
One of the major strengths of the X5-1 is its ability to produce real-time Live 3D and Live 3D Colour images, providing clinicians with improved depth perception and a more realistic representation of anatomical structures. This functionality is particularly beneficial for assessing cardiac pathologies and analyzing blood flow.
With 3,040 elements, the transducer ensures unparalleled precision and resolution. Its proprietary aperture and advanced signal processing allow for clear and high-contrast images, even in patients with complex morphologies. The integration of xPlane and iRotate modes facilitates the exploration of internal structures from different angles without the need to reposition the probe.
The Philips X5-1 is designed for optimal ergonomics with compact dimensions of 9.2 x 3.9 x 2.9 cm, ensuring a comfortable grip and reducing user fatigue during prolonged examinations. Although this transducer is not compatible with biopsy procedures or image fusion navigation, it remains an essential tool for cardiovascular and vascular applications, thanks to its outstanding image quality and diagnostic versatility.
