Cells For Flow Measurements 178.010-QS

Hellma 178.010-QS absorption cells are designed for continuous flow spectrophotometric measurements with small volumes. Made of high-quality SUPRASIL® quartz, they guarantee exceptional transparency over a wide spectral range (200 to 2500 nm). With Ø3 mm inlet and outlet tubes and a compact design, these cells are ideal for analyses requiring high sensitivity and minimal sample handling. Their micro and ultra-micro formats make them powerful tools for laboratories seeking precision, robustness and compatibility with flow analysis systems.

Description

Absorption cells 178.010-QS – Precision and reliability for microvolume flow measurements

The 178.010-QS series of absorption cells from Hellma represent the perfect combination of optical performance and analytical efficiency for continuous flow applications. Specially developed for spectrophotometric measurements under fluid flow conditions, these cells enable precise detection of very small volumes while ensuring a high level of reproducibility. Thanks to their SUPRASIL® quartz design, they offer unrivalled transparency in the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared ranges, covering a spectral range from 200 to 2500 nm.

The 178.010-QS series is available in several versions, with optical path lengths of 10 mm or 50 mm, and different centre heights to suit the constraints of the optical devices used. The compact dimensions, combined with standardised 3 mm diameter inlet and outlet ports, facilitate integration into automated or semi-automated analysis systems. The cubic shape and robustness of the quartz body ensure excellent thermal and mechanical stability, which is essential for routine or research applications.

Each cell in this series is equipped with an optimised fluid flow channel to minimise bubble formation and ensure homogeneous sample distribution throughout the analysis chamber. This not only allows for more stable and accurate readings, but also reduces the risk of cross-contamination, which is particularly important in serial analyses or high-throughput environments.

Ergonomics have also been taken into account: the external dimensions of 12.5 mm wide ensure compatibility with standard cell holders, while allowing for a small footprint in complex experimental setups. The FEP inlet and outlet tubes are perfectly suited for aggressive liquids and can be easily connected to peristaltic pumps or automatic injectors.

Whether for kinetic measurements, continuous analysis or tests under controlled conditions, the 178.010-QS series is the standard in flow cells. Its rigorous manufacturing by Hellma, the world leader in optical components for spectroscopy, guarantees consistent quality that meets the most demanding international standards. The precision machining of SUPRASIL® quartz and individual quality control ensure flawless performance over the long term.
