Eppendorf 5415 C centrifuge – Compact performance for microcentrifugation
The Eppendorf 5415 C centrifuge is an iconic model in the field of microcentrifugation. Designed to meet the needs of demanding laboratories, it enables the rapid and efficient separation of liquids and precipitates of different densities. Its compact size allows it to fit easily on a bench top, while offering performance comparable to larger models.
The standard F-45-18-11 rotor, inclined at 45°, can accommodate up to 18 tubes of 1.5 mL with a diameter of 11 mm. This rotor is equipped with a noise-reducing lid and a quick-release fastening system with a knurled nut. For smaller sample volumes, special rotors and adapters are available, increasing the versatility of the device.
The 5415 C has a simple and intuitive control panel: a main switch, a speed adjustment knob, a timer adjustable up to 30 minutes, and a momentary button for quick centrifugations at full speed. The momentary button allows you to instantly reach 14,000 rpm, regardless of the speed knob setting.
Safety is ensured by a lid lock that prevents the lid from being opened while the rotor is in motion. An integrated fan runs continuously to prevent samples from overheating, even during prolonged use. All rotor components are autoclavable at 121°C, ensuring optimal hygiene.
Maintenance is kept to a minimum: only the motor brushes need to be checked every four months. Replacement is simple and well documented. The device can also be used in a cold room at +4°C, making it suitable for temperature-sensitive protocols.
