Description

Centrifuge 5430: Versatile and Compact High-Performance Centrifuge

The Eppendorf Centrifuge 5430 redefines laboratory centrifugation by blending the proven strengths of microcentrifuges with the adaptability of multipurpose models, making it an indispensable tool for modern laboratories. Built to offer superior flexibility without compromising on performance, this compact centrifuge—measuring just 33 cm in width—delivers speeds of up to 30,130 × g (17,500 rpm) while maintaining a noise level below 58 dB, ensuring a quiet workspace. With its ability to handle a broad range of applications, including microplates and tubes up to 50 mL, the Centrifuge 5430 is a space-efficient, high-performance solution for diverse laboratory needs.

One of the key advantages of the Centrifuge 5430 is its exceptional rotor versatility. It supports 12 different rotor types, accommodating multiple tube sizes from 1.5 mL to 50 mL, microplates, and even specialty rotors designed for unique applications. Among its standout rotors is the 48-place rotor, which enhances productivity by processing more samples in less time. Additionally, it includes a 16-place rotor for 5.0 mL Eppendorf Tubes® and a swing-bucket rotor for up to 24 × 2.0 mL tubes. All rotors are crafted from high-quality aluminum and feature Eppendorf's QuickLock® system, ensuring fast and secure lid closures for increased convenience and safety.

Despite its compact dimensions, the Centrifuge 5430 offers high-speed centrifugation—accelerating to its maximum speed of 17,500 rpm in just 14 seconds (with the FA-45-30-11 rotor). The braking system is equally fast, stopping within 15 seconds, reducing wait times and increasing efficiency in daily workflows. It also features time-saving program keys, allowing users to quickly access and run five frequently used programs at the touch of a button, making repetitive tasks effortless.

The Centrifuge 5430 has been designed with user-friendliness and safety in mind. The intuitive interface makes programming easy, whether setting time (from 30 seconds to 99 hours and 59 minutes) or speed. The inclusion of aerosol-tight rotors with QuickLock® sealing provides additional safety, particularly when working with hazardous samples, preventing the release of aerosols during centrifugation.

Laboratories will appreciate the Centrifuge 5430’s low power consumption, operating at just 550 W. The energy-efficient design and quiet operation (below 58 dB) make it ideal for shared spaces or noise-sensitive environments. With its compact dimensions (33 × 42 × 25 cm) and relatively lightweight build (29 kg without rotor), it fits easily on crowded benchtops without compromising on performance or capacity.

With its superior flexibility, performance, and safety features, the Centrifuge 5430 is a powerful and efficient solution for laboratories with diverse centrifugation needs.
