Eppendorf 5804 R centrifuge: reliable performance for demanding laboratories
The Eppendorf 5804 R centrifuge is a high-performance device designed for laboratories with medium capacity requirements. Ergonomics and temperature control
One of the major advantages of the 5804 R is its ergonomic design. With an access height of only 28 cm and a low-height lid opening, it facilitates sample loading and unloading, even in confined spaces. The soft-close lid allows for effortless handling, reducing physical strain on users.
The refrigerated version of the 5804 R offers precise temperature control from -9 °C to +40 °C. Thanks to Dynamic Compressor Control (DCC) technology, it maintains a constant temperature of 4 °C even at maximum speed. The FastTemp and continuous cooling after cycle functions ensure optimal protection for heat-sensitive samples. In addition, the ECO function activates automatically after 8 hours of inactivity to reduce energy consumption and extend the life of the compressor.
Versatile rotors and compatible accessories
The 5804 R is compatible with several swing-out and fixed-angle rotors, allowing for a wide variety of applications. Commonly used rotors include:
- S-4-72 rotor: swing-out rotor for 4 x 250 mL, maximum speed of 4,200 rpm (3,234 x g), with aerodynamic design for increased energy efficiency.
- A-2-DWP rotor: rotor for deep plates, capacity of 2 plates, loading height up to 89 mm, maximum speed of 3,750 rpm (2,250 x g).
- FA-45-6-30 rotor: fixed-angle rotor for 5 to 50 mL conical tubes, with aerosol-tight QuickLock lid, maximum speed 11,000 rpm (16,639 x g).
- FA-45-30-11 rotor: rotor for 1.5/2 mL microtubes, with sealed lid, maximum speed 14,000 rpm (20,800 x g).
All rotors are designed for long life, are autoclavable and made of anodised aluminium for high chemical resistance. QuickLock lids allow for quick and ergonomic closure, reducing repetitive effort.
The 5804 R centrifuge is also compatible with accessories such as PCR plate adapters, IsoRacks, cell culture flasks and CombiSlide adapters for centrifuging glass slides.
