Reveleris X2: Flash Chromatography System for Fast and Efficient Purification

The Reveleris X2 flash chromatography system is an solution designed for the fast and efficient purification of complex samples using liquid chromatography. This innovative system performs chromatographic separations using cartridges containing a stationary phase, such as 40-63 µm silica, and a mobile phase such as a hexane:ethyl acetate (70:30) mixture at a flow rate of 40 mL/min under moderate pressure (typically less than 100 psig). Although the resolution of flash chromatography is lower than that of analytical or preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), this technique is extremely useful because it allows for the separation of gram-sized samples in a shorter time.

The Reveleris X2 integrates a UV detector capable of monitoring three wavelengths simultaneously, as well as an evaporative light scattering detector (ELSD). The ELSD allows for the monitoring of all non-volatile compounds in the mobile phase and the detection of compounds that do not absorb UV radiation. Both detectors offer adjustable sensitivity settings for detecting and collecting small and large quantities of compounds.

The system operates in flash gradient chromatography mode with a 4-channel independent solvent delivery system and binary gradient formation with high-pressure mixing. The flow rate can be varied from 1 to 200 mL/min with an accuracy of ±3%. The maximum supported pressure is 200 psig, and the gradient accuracy at 40 mL/min is ±1.5%. The system allows the injection of liquid or solid samples with sample feeders available for 3 g, 25 g, and 60 g. The sample loader plungers are available in three sizes (15 mL, 75 mL, and 150 mL).

The absorbance detector can monitor a wavelength range from 200 to 500 nm, and up to three wavelengths can be monitored and used to trigger fraction collection. The ELSD detector uses a 0.3 mW laser light source and a silicon photodiode detector element. Fractions can be collected using UV or ELSD signals in multi-position racks for 36 25 mm tubes.
