CKX41: An innovative solution for cell microscopy
The CKX41 inverted microscope from Olympus has been specially designed to meet the growing needs of laboratories for cell observation. This microscope stands out for its flexibility, superior optical performance and ease of use, making it an essential tool in cell culture, biomedical research and routine diagnostic environments. Olympus' modular approach allows the CKX41 to be adapted to a variety of applications, from conventional observation to fluorescence imaging, without compromising ease of use.
At the heart of the CKX41 is the Universal Infinity System(UIS) optical system, which guarantees exceptional image resolution and contrast, even at high magnifications. Thanks to objectives designed specifically for phase contrast and relief contrast techniques, it is possible to obtain images of remarkable clarity, essential for assessing cell viability or for IVF applications. Olympus has also introduced a notable innovation with the Relief Contrast (RC) technique, which uses modulated oblique illumination to produce pseudo-3D images that are particularly effective for unstained live samples in plastic Petri dishes.
The CKX41 is super easy to use thanks to smart ergonomic features like low front controls, a wide-angle (up to 60°) tilting binocular tube, and a compact design that makes it easy to use in biosafety cabinets or on crowded benches. In addition, the device features smooth focus adjustment with a coaxial control system and a stable triangular base for optimal sample retention.
The CKX41 is also ready for digital documentation: it can be equipped with Olympus digital cameras (such as the DP12), video ports and various adapters for image capture, video monitoring or integration into advanced imaging systems. It also offers an optional fluorescence illumination unit, allowing observations with blue, green or UV excitation (particularly for DAPI staining), thus meeting the growing needs for specific imaging in the laboratory.
Its mechanical stage is compatible with a wide range of sample holders such as Petri dishes, culture flasks, perfusion chambers and glass slides, ensuring high adaptability to experimental protocols. The CKX41 is a truly scalable tool that will support researchers at every stage of their work.
