Heracell 240i: The CO₂ Incubator for Optimal Cell Growth

The Heracell 240i from Thermo Fisher Scientific is a CO₂ incubator designed to meet the most demanding needs of research laboratories and medical applications. With its advanced features and intelligent design, it provides a safe and reliable environment for cell growth.

The Heracell 240i is equipped with gas sensors for precise and reliable CO₂ regulation. You can choose between thermal conductivity (TC) and the dual-beam infrared (IR) sensor, depending on your specific needs. TC sensors are ideal for applications where temperature and humidity are stable, while IR sensors are recommended for environments with frequent temperature and humidity variations. Both types of sensors are thermostable and can remain in place during the ContraCon decontamination cycle.

For researchers wishing to establish hypoxic or hyperoxic culture conditions, the Heracell 240i offers two optional O₂ control ranges: from 1 to 21% or from 5 to 90%. The high-tech, maintenance-free sensor automatically calibrates and can remain in the incubator during high-temperature decontamination.

The Heracell 240i's exclusive humidification system ensures high relative humidity and a quick return to set points after door opening. The integrated water reservoir and water level sensor alert the user when the reservoir needs to be refilled, preventing the evaporation of culture media. This tray-less system reduces handling and ensures a quick return to optimal humidity conditions.

The 90°C wet heat decontamination cycle, ContraCon, is a feature of the Heracell 240i. Available on demand, it is proven to eliminate bacteria, molds, fungal spores, and mycoplasmas. This cycle simplifies cleaning and removes all types of contaminants during disinfection, without requiring the disassembly of sensors and components for autoclave sterilization.

For maximum protection against contaminants, the Heracell 240i is available with an antimicrobial solid copper chamber. Copper has permanent contact bactericidal and fungicidal properties, making it ideal for shared environments. The chamber, fan, and shelving systems are made of 100% antimicrobial solid copper, with no copper alloy or plating.

The Heracell 240i's iCAN touchscreen enhances the visibility and control of important incubator information. It allows quick access to critical information and receives alert notifications, for example, when gas supply is low or when there are changes in the cell culture environment.

For additional protection against contamination, the Heracell 240i can be equipped with six gas-tight glass doors, allowing access to different sections of the incubator without disturbing the internal atmosphere. The doors can be mounted with hinges on the right or left side of the unit to optimize workspace in the laboratory.

The Heracell 240i is compatible with a range of accessories and options to meet your specific needs. Heratrays shelves facilitate the transport of your cultures and allow each level of the incubator to be divided into four distinct sections. Support bases provide protection against floor contamination and can be mounted on wheels for easy movement. The rotating flask system allows for the insertion of flasks of different diameters and the separate adjustment of rotation speed for each shelf.
