Memmert ICO105med CO₂ Incubator: Mastering Culture Conditions
The Memmert ICO105med CO₂ incubator is designed to provide precisely controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, and gas composition, essential for the cultivation of cells, tissues, or bacteria in medical and research environments. With its accurate regulation and robust construction, it ensures optimal thermal homogeneity while guaranteeing continuous operational safety.
Its temperature range of +18 to +50 °C, combined with a six-sided heating system—including the door and rear wall—effectively reduces condensation. The unit is equipped with two Class A Pt100 temperature sensors that enable cross-monitoring to maintain parameter stability. The integrated sterilization cycle operates at 180 °C for 60 minutes and does not require the removal of the sensors.
Humidity control is provided by a Peltier element, maintaining relative humidity at 93% ±2.5% using a water pan. With the optional K7 feature, active humidity control can be adjusted between 40% and 97%. For gas regulation, the ICO105med features a digital CO₂ control system (0 to 20%) with a dual-beam NDIR sensor, self-diagnosis, and barometric pressure compensation. Optional O₂ regulation (1 to 20%) is available with module T6.
The TwinDISPLAY control system provides a user-friendly interface with two high-resolution color screens, allowing adjustment of key parameters (temperature, CO₂ concentration, time, etc.), and includes the SetpointWAIT function, which delays process initiation until the target temperature is reached.
Integrated safety features include over- and under-temperature protection (AutoSAFETY), audible and visual alarms, a self-diagnostic system, and memory retention for programmed settings in case of power failure.
The inner chamber, made of stainless steel 1.4301, is supplied with two perforated shelves, a water pan, and a membrane gas filter system. The usable chamber volume is 107 liters, with a maximum load capacity of 90 kg.
The ICO105med meets the strict performance and safety standards required in medical laboratories, offering connectivity via USB and Ethernet, and programming capabilities through the included AtmoCONTROL software on USB stick.
