Sanyo MCO-20AIC CO₂ Incubator: Stability, Safety, and Contamination Control in Cell Culture Environments
The Sanyo MCO-20AIC CO₂ incubator is meticulously engineered for contamination-sensitive environments such as laboratory or clinical cell culture applications. It combines germicidal materials, controlled air circulation, and autonomous disinfection technologies to ensure 24/7 sample safety.
At the heart of the MCO-20AIC is a mirror-polished stainless steel chamber enriched with copper, a natural antimicrobial alloy. This internal surface inhibits the growth of molds, bacteria, mycoplasma, and other pathogens. All interior components—including shelves, supports, and the air plenum—are fully removable without tools, enabling thorough cleaning at any time.
The Direct Heat and Air Jacket (DHA) system replaces the traditional water jacket, providing uniform temperature control throughout the chamber with ±0.1°C accuracy. A PID microprocessor controller continuously monitors and adjusts temperature, CO₂ concentration, and humidity to maintain ideal conditions, even after door openings.
To further prevent contamination, the incubator is equipped with the SafeCell™ UV system. This programmable UV lamp is isolated from the cell culture area and sterilizes both the conditioned air and the humidification reservoir without affecting samples. Operating at a specific wavelength of 263.7 nm, the lamp ensures long-lasting and effective germicidal action.
A ceramic-based infrared CO₂ sensor delivers fast and accurate CO₂ readings, even after brief environmental disturbances. The system supports dual gas cylinder connection with automatic switching, preventing any critical interruption in CO₂ supply.
User interaction is straightforward: the control panel is located on the outer door, allowing easy access even in stacked configurations. An optional RS232/RS485 communication port supports integration into remote monitoring or data logging systems, with automatic performance parameter export.
The MCO-20AIC combines hygiene, precision control, and practical design to provide laboratories with a reliable and consistent cell culture environment, free from compromise.
