11720 Coaxial Ophthalmoscope: Optimised vision for healthcare professionals
The Welch Allyn 11720 is a 3.5 V coaxial ophthalmoscope designed to provide a superior diagnostic experience. Thanks to its patented coaxial optical system, this device allows for easier entry into the eye, even when the pupil is not dilated. This system produces a shadowless spot, reducing glare and improving image clarity. It also offers a wider field of view than standard ophthalmoscopes, making it easier to examine the fundus and detect eye conditions.
Lighting technology and specialised filters
The 11720 ophthalmoscope is equipped with a 3.5 V HPX™ halogen lamp, which provides 30% whiter and brighter light than conventional lamps. This light allows for accurate colour reproduction of tissues, which is essential for accurate diagnosis. The device also incorporates several specialised filters, including a cross-polarising filter that virtually eliminates corneal reflections, a cobalt blue filter for detecting corneal abrasions with fluorescein dye, and a red-free filter that facilitates the identification of veins, arteries and nerve fibres.
Versatility and precision thanks to a wide range of lenses and apertures
The 11720 offers 28 focus lenses covering a range from -25 to +40 dioptres, allowing precise adaptation to every clinical situation. It has 18 unique combinations of apertures and filters, offering great flexibility of use. Available apertures include:
- Micro-spot for very small pupils
- Small aperture for non-dilated pupils
- Large aperture for general examinations
- Slit for assessing the depth of lesions
- Fixation aperture with graduated reticle These options allow for optimal customisation of the examination according to the needs of the practitioner and patient.
The Welch Allyn 11720 Coaxial Ophthalmoscope is a high-end ophthalmic diagnostic instrument designed to provide optimal visualisation of the fundus.
