Compact versatility for the modern laboratory: Combi-spin PCV-2400
The PCV-2400 from Grant Instruments is a multifunctional solution combining a centrifuge and a vortex mixer in a compact format, specifically designed to meet the needs of biotechnology, microbiology, biochemistry and industrial research laboratories. This device allows both centrifugation cycles and vortexing operations on microtubes to be performed in a small footprint, offering considerable space savings in confined workspaces such as laminar flow cabinets or PCR booths. Thanks to its unique motor shaft mechanism, centrifugation and mixing tasks can be performed simultaneously, optimising workflow by reducing waiting time between experimental steps.
The PCV-2400 accepts various types of interchangeable rotors compatible with tubes from 0.2 to 2.0 ml, allowing maximum flexibility according to protocol requirements. Its secure lid equipped with a micro switch prevents start-up while open, while a locking system prevents opening while the rotor is in motion, ensuring optimal user safety. Operation is intuitive thanks to a single three-position switch control for quick start ("Quick Spin"), long spin mode ("Long Spin") and complete stop. The vortex function is activated manually by pressing the concave mixing head, allowing precise control of the mixing intensity, which is useful for rapid dissolution of sediments.
With a fixed rotation speed of 2800 rpm (50 Hz) or 3500 rpm (60 Hz), the PCV-2400 reaches its maximum speed in just 5 seconds, ensuring remarkable efficiency for short cycles. Designed for continuous use for up to 60 minutes, the device also stands out for its robustness, stability and low noise level. Lightweight (1.7 kg) and compact (190 x 235 x 125 mm), it fits easily into any laboratory environment.
Whether for preparing enzyme samples, pre-incubation treatment or mixing prior to thermal analysis, the PCV-2400 is the ideal choice for laboratories seeking efficiency, safety and compactness.
