TetraCon® 700 Conductivity Measuring Cell – Accurate and Durable Solution for Water Analysis
The TetraCon® 700 is a versatile and reliable conductivity measuring cell by WTW, designed to deliver accurate results in water and wastewater analysis. It is especially suitable for stationary measurements where consistent data is critical, such as in industrial, municipal, and environmental monitoring applications. The measuring cell’s sophisticated construction and design innovations ensure that it provides accurate measurements over a wide range of conditions while withstanding the rigors of industrial use.
At the core of the TetraCon® 700's performance is its four-electrode measurement principle, which effectively minimizes the effects of primary and secondary polarization. This method allows for precise conductivity measurements, reducing potential errors associated with traditional two-electrode cells. The result is a high degree of accuracy across a broad conductivity range, from 10 µS/cm to 1000 mS/cm, making it suitable for diverse applications, from ultrapure water analysis to highly conductive solutions.
The TetraCon® 700 is engineered for durability, featuring a robust epoxy casting technique that enhances the measuring cell's resilience in harsh environments. The sturdy design minimizes the risk of mechanical damage, making it ideal for demanding industrial settings. The PVC shaft and stainless steel components offer additional strength and chemical resistance, while the POM (polyoxymethylene) closing head and protection ring provide extra protection against physical impacts. This combination of materials ensures that the sensor can maintain its performance even under challenging conditions, such as exposure to varying temperatures, pressures, and chemical environments.
Temperature variations can significantly affect conductivity measurements, making temperature compensation essential. The TetraCon® 700 addresses this need with an integrated NTC 30 temperature sensor, which ensures accurate compensation across the full temperature range of 0 °C to +50 °C. This feature allows the sensor to deliver consistent and reliable results even when the measuring environment undergoes temperature changes.
The TetraCon® 700 is designed to adapt to various installation requirements. With an immersion depth starting from 30 mm and an operating position that can be adjusted as needed, the sensor offers flexibility in placement. The approach flow is not required, allowing for straightforward integration into different measurement setups, including stationary applications and flow-through systems such as the EBST 700-DU/N.
The measuring cell is also versatile when it comes to cable length options, with connection cables available in 1.5 m, 7.0 m, 15.0 m, or even custom lengths up to 100 meters, making it suitable for installations of various sizes.
The TetraCon® 700 is designed to meet safety and regulatory requirements, including 97/23/EC ("pressure equipment directive"). With a maximum pressure resistance of 10 bar (106 Pa) and an IP68 rating for submersibility, the sensor is well-suited for use in challenging environments where protection against moisture and pressure is essential.
The TetraCon® 700 is a reliable and versatile choice for any conductivity measurement application in the water and wastewater sectors, providing accuracy, durability, and flexibility in a single, well-engineered package.
