Connex Vital Signs Monitor 6000 Series: a concentrate of innovation for clinical monitoring
The Welch Allyn Connex 6000 Series vital signs monitor is a versatile and scalable monitoring solution designed to optimise vital signs management in hospital settings. Designed for the most demanding medical environments, this monitor meets the needs of healthcare professionals in general medicine, surgery, emergency, intensive care and alternative care settings. It is capable of continuously or intermittently monitoring a wide range of physiological parameters in adult, paediatric and neonatal patients.
One of the major advantages of this device is its modular design, available in two formats — standard or extended — depending on the number of modules included (up to three for the extended model). This allows healthcare facilities to adapt the configuration to their specific needs. The Connex 6000 can integrate different modules for non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) measurement, body temperature, SpO₂, heart rate, respiratory rate, Integrated Pulmonary Index (IPI), and, optionally, carbon dioxide (etCO₂), total haemoglobin (SpHb) and acoustic respiratory rate (RRa).
Its large colour touchscreen (1024x600 px) provides a clear and intuitive user interface, facilitating access to data and navigation between user profiles (Spot Check, Triage, Continuous Monitoring and Interval Monitoring). Professionals can easily manage alarms, patient/clinician IDs, trend data, and even transfer or print measurements directly via the USB port or connection to the Connex CS central system.
Network connectivity (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) enables remote monitoring and seamless integration with hospital information systems, centralising alerts and patient data. The Connex 6000 also ensures high security thanks to its locking systems, smart alarms and compatibility with IEC 60601-1 standards.
In terms of reliability, the device is designed to withstand intensive use: long-life lithium-ion battery, internal fans to prevent overheating, integrated visual and audible alarms, compatibility with a wide range of Welch Allyn, Masimo, Oridion and EarlySense sensors.
This monitor is not intended for use during external transport or in high-risk environments (MRI, hyperbaric chambers). It must be handled by qualified personnel. In summary, the Connex 6000 offers comprehensive and personalised monitoring for hospitalised patients.
