MVE XC 34/18: Reliable Cryogenic Storage with the MVE XC 34/18
The MVE XC 34/18 model from the XC series stands out for its ability to effectively meet the cryogenic storage needs of professionals in the medical and research sectors. Designed to safely preserve biological samples at ultra-low temperatures, this tank is ideal for facilities seeking reliability, autonomy, and simplified storage management.
Manufactured from aluminum that is both strong and lightweight, the MVE XC 34/18 combines excellent mechanical resistance with easy handling, even in the most demanding environments. It is part of a product range renowned for its robustness and low static evaporation rate. With a capacity of 34.8 liters of liquid nitrogen and a low daily consumption estimated at 0.18 L/day, it ensures a normal operating duration of 123 days under standard conditions, making it a relevant choice for facilities aiming to reduce refill frequency and optimize sample preservation.
The XC 34/18 can hold up to 3,000 straws (½ cc in bulk, in one layer) and 630 vials ranging from 1.2 to 2.0 ml (on five-level racks). It is compatible with six canisters, each 11 cm in height and 71 mm in diameter. This configuration allows for clear organization of samples and easy access, particularly thanks to the internal platform equipped with a “spider web” design that ensures smooth insertion and removal of the canisters.
Moreover, this model features an 89 mm neck, reinforced to reduce liquid nitrogen loss while providing a wide enough opening for routine handling. The lid, designed to withstand frequent use, is tamper-proof and effectively protects the contents.
The vacuum retention system relies on chemical-based technology, contributing to the unit’s thermal stability and optimal preservation of stored materials. These features make the XC 34/18 a reliable solution for hospitals, assisted reproduction centers, sperm or stem cell banks, as well as research laboratories.
