FS800 by RWD: A Precision Cryostat for High-Quality Tissue Sectioning
The FS800 by RWD is a high-precision cryostat specifically designed for pathology and biomedical research laboratories. This device enables frozen tissue sectioning with exceptional quality while ensuring optimal control of cutting parameters and outstanding thermal stability.
The FS800’s cutting system is based on a cross-rail mechanism and a high-precision screw, combined with a high-resolution sampling motor. This setup guarantees unmatched precision and stability. Section thickness can be adjusted from 0.5 to 100 µm, with a trimming range extending up to 800 µm, offering great flexibility in sample preparation.
One of the FS800's standout features is its advanced temperature control system. Even when the cryochamber window is left open for an extended period, the temperature remains stable, ensuring optimal sample preservation. The device includes 15 refrigerated slots and 2 rapid cooling sites for efficient sample management.
Safety and hygiene are at the core of the FS800's design. Its low-temperature UVC disinfection system effectively eliminates pathogens, creating a safe working environment. Additionally, its waste liquid management system helps prevent contamination risks by displaying waste volume on a touchscreen and issuing alerts if the waste container is full or improperly positioned.
The FS800 also excels in user ergonomics and convenience. Its color touchscreen and intuitive joystick allow smooth navigation between various functions, including coarse feeding, cutting parameter adjustments, and both automatic and manual defrosting. It features a precise positioning system with a ±8° visual pointer, making sample orientation easier and reducing sample waste.
To further enhance efficiency, the FS800 includes an automatic sleep mode that optimizes energy consumption and simplifies handling by reducing waiting times. Its buckle-based specimen fixation system allows for quick and secure sample installation, with a unique labeling system that facilitates sample identification and prevents mix-ups.
