FS800A by RWD - Precision Cryostat Microtome
The FS800A by RWD is a high-end cryostat microtome designed to meet the demands of pathology and biomedical research laboratories. This device allows for the precise sectioning of frozen tissues, facilitating the production of uniform, high-quality sections for histological analysis and intraoperative diagnosis.
Featuring a high-performance refrigeration system, the FS800A ensures exceptional thermal stability, even after prolonged chamber opening at -35°C. Its design includes 15 refrigerated sites and 2 fast cooling sites, guaranteeing optimal sample conditioning. The adjustable section thickness range from 0.5 to 100 µm and the trimming section thickness range from 1 to 800 µm allow for customization based on analytical needs.
The FS800A stands out with its high-precision motor, combining a cross-rail and high-end screw with a high-resolution stepper motor. This system ensures stable and reproducible section quality, making it ideal for research and diagnostic applications. Its precise visual positioning system, with X/Y axis orientation of 8° and Z-axis rotation of 360°, allows for optimal sample alignment.
This model also offers an intuitive user interface, featuring a color touchscreen and a multifunction joystick. Users can easily adjust the sectioning speed (0 to 1800 µm/s), switch between manual and automatic modes, and activate the cut window function for efficient operation. Additionally, the FS800A provides four slicing modes (Int., Single, Cont., Multi.), offering greater flexibility depending on the requirements.
For optimal hygiene, the device is equipped with an advanced UVC disinfection system, effectively eliminating viruses and bacteria within the cryochamber. Liquid waste management is simplified with an on-screen volume display and alerts to prevent accidental contamination.
The FS800A features an automatic sleep and wake-up function, allowing for energy savings and reduced waiting times. Its ergonomic design includes a quick sample fixation system with marking for easy identification, minimizing errors and optimizing workflow.
