CSB series heating block – A compliant, safe and efficient digestion solution
The CSB series of heating blocks developed by Behr is designed for laboratories requiring chemical digestion in accordance with international standards for the analysis of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD). Available in three models depending on the required capacity – CSB 6/E, CSB 12/E and CSB 24/E – this series guarantees uniform temperature distribution, safe sample handling and highly reliable results.
The heart of the system is a precision heating block made of powder-coated stainless steel, ensuring rapid and controlled temperature rise up to 299 °C. The cavities for inserting the digestion tubes are equipped with continuous grooves that allow pressure equalisation, condensate drainage and a reduced risk of glass breakage, even under extreme conditions.
Designed for use with standard RG 2 reaction tubes, this series also features an interface with the TRS 300 controller, a programmable microprocessor device that offers up to 10 customised programmes. This controller includes a pre-programmed DCO mode that meets the strict requirements of ISO 6060: a digestion temperature reached in less than 10 minutes and then maintained at a stable level.
CSB blocks are ideal for modern analytical installations, whether compact or automated. They can be integrated into complete Behr workstations, including coolers, supports, magnetic stirrers, automatic dispensers and titration systems.
Their safety in use is enhanced by optimised thermal insulation and automatic shut-off devices in the event of a short circuit or temperature sensor failure. They are therefore the obvious choice for laboratories seeking to combine compliance, accuracy and ease of use in their COD analyses.
