Binoculus - Innovation Serving Vision
The Binoculus provides a comprehensive solution for orthoptists to assess their patients' binocular vision. By consolidating various sensory evaluation tests, this digital platform simplifies and enhances patient care while paving the way for new innovative testing and rehabilitation tools.
The hardware platform includes accessories such as glasses or a projector to perform the tests. The platform is installed on a PC from which the orthoptist manages the tests. Its intuitive interface allows the orthoptist to smoothly transition between tests, making the experience pleasant for the patient. From the computer, the orthoptist controls the image movements necessary for conducting the tests.
Some Binoculus tests have been validated by the School Medicine Department of the Ministry of National Education, as part of an Investments for the Future project. Currently, implemented tests include evaluations of visual acuity, stereoacuity, eye deviation, fusion amplitude, and digital synoptophore.
The digital synoptophore is a major innovation of the Binoculus. Designed to replace the traditional synoptophore, it evaluates all three degrees of binocular vision in a modern and less spasmodic manner. With active 3D glasses, each lens alternately blocks each eye, allowing precise isolation of the patient's visual pathways.
